Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained one Rohingya, with 9,900 yaba pills in Cox's Bazar. They conducted a drive on the west side of Cox's Bazar-Teknaf paved road, approximately 50 yards north of the gate of Ukhia sub-station on Wednesday.
The detained person’s name is Md. Ayub, 25, who is a forcibly displaced Rohingya national of Myanmar.
On the basis of a secret source, a vigilant expedition team of RAB-15, Cox's Bazar reached Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road. After sensing the presence of RAB members,
one unidentified accused was able to flee.
However, a total of 9,900 pieces of yaba tablets were later recovered from the polythene bags which were in Ayub’s hands. The value of the recovered drugs (yaba) is estimated at Tk. 49,50,000.
The arrested accused and the recovered goods have been handed over to Ukhia police station in Cox's Bazar district for further legal action. Attempts to arrest the fugitive continue.
