Dr SM Ashraful Alam, resident medical officer (RMO) of Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex in Chuadanga, has been remaining absent from work since May 2 without taking leave.
He was not receiving any call on his personal mobile phone. That’s why notices were sent to him asking to know the reason for his absence, said Jibannagar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Safiullah Nawaz.
The health and family planning officer said resident medical officer Dr SM Ashraful Alam has been absent from work since May 2 without taking leave. “We have failed to communicate with him through mobile phone. He is not receiving any call,” he added.
A notice has been issued to him on May 10 to find out the reason for his continuous absence. The letter was delivered to his permanent home address by an employee. Besides, another notice was sent by post on May 14. But he did not accept the notices.
It may be mentioned here that the attendance book is in his custody. Now, Dr Mostafizur Rahman Sujan has been assigned the duty of acting RMO.
Civil Surgeon of Chuadanga Dr Sajjat Hasan said the Health and Family Planning Officer will take action in this regard.
