More than five hundred workers (RMG) of ‘A one BD Ltd’, a readymade garment factory of DEPZ, staged demonstration demanding their eight months’ arrears of eleven hundred workers. The demonstration took place before Ashulia press club of Ashulia in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Monday morning.
Workers in the demonstration said, “The authorities of the garment factory making excuses one after another and keep pending eight month’s salary of 11 hundred workers, even the authorities did not pay workers salary though they promised 17times to pay their salary.
Later, the workers were forced to protest but no solution yet; rather on the contrary the authorities sacks workers. In such a situation, the workers were facing extreme financial crisis and inhuman situation along with their family during this coronavirus outbreak.” In addition, “Therefore, the workers were forced to stage demonstration and demanded immediate payment of their arrear wage and reinstate all the workers of the factory, who were sacked.”
On other hand, this correspondent could not reach the authorities of ‘A one BD Ltd’, despite making several phone calls.
