The Rickshaw-pullers on Tuesday morning blocked different city streets, including Rampura, Badda, Malibagh, for the second consecutive day protesting rickshaw ban on three major roads in the capital.
They took to the streets around 8am and staged demonstration blocking the roads.
Rickshaw puller Abu Hashem said "Our road blockade movement will continue till 1pm. We will continue our movement tomorrow if the ban is not lifted within today."
Following the blockade, huge tailbacks occurred on both sides of the road, inflicting sufferings on commuters.
Students and office-goers were the worst sufferers, as they got stuck in the gridlock.
Earlier, the authority banned rickshaws on three key roads in Dhaka--Gabtali to Azimpur via Asad Gate, Science Lab Crossing to Shahbagh via Bata intersection and Kuril to Syedabad Bus Terminal through Badda, Rampura and Khilgaon.
Following the decision, rickshaw-pullers blocked some city roads on Monday.
