Rice was distributed among the flood affected people at the field of No. 2 Hok Danga Govt Primary School under Thetrai union in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram on Wednesday.
Rive was distributed among 100 families and each family received 10 kg of rice.
Ulipur Upazila Parishad Chairman Sajadur Rahman Talukdar Shaju, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ataur Rahman, Engineer of Upazila Project Implementation Office Rajon Rayhan, Thetrai UP Members Akhil Chandra Barman, Abdul Halim Sarkar, Anisur Rahman and others were present at that time.
Ulipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Ataur Rahman said almost 5,500 people of the upazila were marooned as the water level of Brahmaputra, Dharla and Teesta rivers increased. We are distributing rice, pulse and oil among the people who are stranded. We are continuing such activities so that this flood affected people do not face food crisis.
