Rice and chicken prices have gone up while the prices of vegetables and eggs have come down in the market.
The situation has been observed after visiting a good number of kitchen markets in the capital on Friday.
Prices of most vegetables in the market have come down by Tk 10 to Tk 20 per kg.
Per kg tomato is being sold at Tk 120, yardlong bean at Tk 80, beans at Tk 40-60, brinjal at Tk 40-60, bitter gourd at Tk 60, carrot at Tk 80, pumpkin at Tk 40 and snake gourd at Tk 50.
A large size cauliflower is being sold at Tk 40-50, cabbage at Tk 30-40 per piece, and gourd at Tk 60.
Potatoes are being sold at Tk 20-25 per kg in these markets.
New potatoes are being sold at Tk 80 per kg. Local onions are being sold at Tk 50-55 per kg and onions of India and Myanmar at Tk 45-50. Green chillies are being sold at Tk 80 per kg.
Green bananas are being sold at Tk 30 per four pieces, per kg papaya at Tk 30 and cucumber at Tk 60 and per four pieces lemon is being sold at Tk 15-20.
Dried chilies are being sold at Tk 150 to Tk 250 per kg, garlic at Tk 80 to Tk 130, ginger at Tk 70-80 and turmeric at Tk 160 to Tk 220 per kg.
Besides, Indian lentils are being sold at Tk 90 per kg and local lentils at Tk 110 per kg.
In retail level edible oil is being sold at Tk 160 per liter. Sugar is being sold at Tk 80 per kg. Besides, packets of sugar are being sold at Tk 85 per kg.
The prices of eggs have come down in the market. Dozens of red eggs are being sold at Tk 100. Dozens of duck and Sonali chicken eggs are being sold at Tk 180.
Broiler chickens are being sold at Tk 145-150 per kg. Sonali chicken is being sold at Tk 250 with an increase of Tk 20.
Last week, the price of Sonali chicken was Tk 230 per kg. Layer chicken is being sold at Tk 230 per kg.
In the market, the price of Nazirshail rice has increased by Tk 2-3 per kg and is being sold at Tk 68-70 per kg. The price of miniket rice has gone up by Tk 2 per kg and is being sold at Tk 67-68 per kg.
