‘Rhythm of Bangladesh’, the only rock band based in the Midwest US, performed at a virtual concert on Saturday.

The two-hour long ‘Rhythm of Bangladesh Presents Legato Gaan-E-Adda Episode 2’ was broadcast online from 11am on New York time and 10pm Dhaka time.

The band performed cover songs of several popular Bangladeshi bands including, Nagarbaul James, LRB, Artcell, Aurthohin, and Miles.

The shows drew more than 2,300 viewers and 300 comments from Bangladesh and all US states as well as from Sweden, Italy and New Zealand, Abeer, lead vocalist and guitar player of the band, told Bangladesh Post on Sunday night.

Other band members, who came together from different professions, are Safee, drummer, Shawon, bass, Raiven, guitar and vocal and Shipu, guitar and vocal.

Tahneen Mashruba Mithun was the presenter of the show.

During the show, Abeer said, “I wish to make a Bangladeshi rock band more popular in the Midwest and promote it, so that young generation can be inspired to rock music and form more rock bands.”

“It was an amazing feeling. Viewers from all over the world stayed with us for the entire duration of two hours of the show, constantly cheering and supporting us. We, as musicians, have long way to go.

It is really hard to maintain a rock band while doing our daily jobs and dealing with various challenges of life. But, today, seeing all the support from the people gives us the strength and the will to achieve excellence as rock musicians,” he told Bangladesh Post.

Rhythm of Bangladesh has other accomplishments. It performed as the opening band during the Dhaka-based popular band Miles’s 40th anniversary tour in Michigan and Ohio.

The band is working on originals and plan to release an album in future, Abeer said.
