Villagers have formed a human chain at Gosairhat upazila in Shariatpur demanding reinvestigation of murder of Fazila Begum of Nagerpara at the upazila. The human chain was formed on the ground of Bara Kachna Govt Primary School on Monday morning. Victim’s husband Md Abul Hashem Pusthi, daughter Rima Begum, local people Nurul Haque Pusthi, Sultan Madbar, Ismail Khan, Eskandar Bhuiyan, Manik Khan and Dulal Khan spoke at the human chain, among others.
The speakers alleged that Shahinur Begum and Fahima Begum tortured Fazila Begum in the night of October 20 in a planned way following order of Humayun Kabir Pusthi. The victim was taken to Gosairhat Upazila Health Complex and later she was shifted to Dhaka for better treatment. Fazila succumbed to her injuries on the way of Dhaka. A case was filed in this connection on October 22. Investigation officer of the case MA Mazid has been influenced by the accused and filed final report in favour of the accused.
