Recovered looted arms, ammo handed over to army in Noakhali

A large number of recovered arms and bullets which were looted by the miscreants from two police stations in Noakhali were handed over to Army on Monday.

Earlier on August 5, a gang of miscreants attacked Sonaimuri and Chatkhil police stations in Noakhali after the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country. The miscreants looted arms, bullets along with various other goods of the two police stations. Later, the looted arms, bullets and goods were recovered by conducting drives and they were handed over to the Bangladesh Army.

District Commandant of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force, Roksana Begum, handed over the arms and bullets to the Second-in-Command of Maijdee camp of Bangladesh Army, Major Rifat Anwar, at the District Ansar and Village Defence Force office at around 12:30 pm on Monday.

Among the arms, bullets and goods that were recovered, there were one SMG, five shotguns, 32 rounds of lead cartridge, 756 rounds of rifle bullets, five sound grenades, 10 rounds of tear shells, seven handcuffs, one pipe gun, one magazine of SMG, one rifle, two pistols, two gas guns, 11 rounds of pistol bullets and 67 rounds of rubber bullets. Besides, hand mike, walkie-talkie, walkie-talkie battery, traffic signal light, motorcycle, laptop, computer keyboard and computer mouse were also recovered.
