In Bogura district, 168 people have been infected with Covid-19 in a single day, which is the highest number of infected people in a single day in the district. In the last 24 hours till Monday noon, Covid-19 has been detected in the bodies of 168 out of 345 samples. The test detection rate is 48.69 percent.
According to the district health department, Covid-19 infection of 117 people have been identified in the PCR lab of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and TMSS College. In addition, 37 people were identified in the antigen test and the remaining 14 were identified in the gene expert machine test. So far 1 lakh 32 thousand 863 samples have been tested in the district and 22 thousand 803 people have been identified out of which 21 thousand 284 people have recovered and the total death toll of 688 has remained unchanged as no one has died again. 69 people are receiving treatment. Of these, 33 were admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, 26 to Mohammad Ali Hospital and 10 to TMSS Hospital's Corona Unit.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin said the results of the last 24 hours have identified a record number of Covid-19 infection. Corona infection has spread to all the Upazilas besides the city. He said the district health department was working to prevent corona infection. The health officials said that medical equipment including beds and oxygen are ready in the hospitals at the upazila level including 3 specialized hospitals.
Bogura Deputy Commissioner Md Ziaul Haque said the executive magistrates are operating a mobile court to ensure that everyone wore a mask, including complying with health rules. He said that the campaign was being carried out to increase public awareness on prevention of infection, adding that the administration was continuing its efforts to reduce the rate of infection.
