Reception, farewell for new and outgoing WCCU director

Md. Sanaullah Patwary has joined the Wildlife Crime Control Unit (WCCU), Dhaka of the Forest Department as new director of the unit. He has been replaced by A.S.M Jahir Uddin Akon. 

Sanaullah Patwary has taken charge of the office through a simple ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Dhaka office of the WCCU at Bon Bhaban (building of Forest Department) at Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday (July 13). A.S.M Jahir Uddin Akon formally handed over the charge to the new WCCU director. 

Meanwhile, the WCCU officials accorded an instant reception to the new director of the WCCU and farewell ceremony to the outgoing director. 

The WCCU officials and employees and other current and former officials of the Forest Department handed over a bouquet to outgoing director A.S.M Jahir Uddin Akon at the farewell ceremony. They also received new director Md. Sanaullah Patwary with a bouquet. 

Former Deputy Conservator of Forests Dr Tapan Kumar Dey, Wildlife Inspector at WCCU Nargis Sultana were present at the ceremony, among others.  

In an instant rection, Md. Sanaullah Patwary said that he will continue to do his best to accelerate the progress of the Wildlife Crime Control Unit. 

He said that conservation of wildlife is very important to ensure a healthy ecosystem. Significant progress over protecting wildlife has been made in the country since the inception of the WCCU.

In his reaction, A.S.M Jahir Uddin Akon said that the WCCU has been playing a vital role in protecting the wildlife and against the wildlife related crimes in the country.
