Police arrested the personal assistant of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and 23 others on Sunday.
The PA was identified as Bipul Kumar Sarkar.
Media wing of Rajshahi district and metropolitan police has informed the matter on Sunday noon.
Among the arrestees, 14 were held from different areas of the metropolitan and 10 other were arrested from different parts of the district.
A press release of the RMP media wing said Bipul was held from his Raninagor residence of the Rajshahi city o Saturday night. Bipul was a permanent official of RCC. He had worked as the personal assistant of RCC mayor Liton.
Besides, police arrested ward No. 7 unit Awami League president Shariful Islam and leader of the same ward Mokthter Hossain
After interrogation, necessary legal action has been taken against the arrestees.
They all are sent to jail after being produced before court.
