A rare species of fish has been found in the nets of fishermen in Katiadi of Kishoreganj. Crowds of curious people had been gathering to see
the fish.
On Friday (November 12) afternoon, from the Arial Kha river in the upazila, the fish was caught in the net of a fisherman named Sabuj Mia.
It is learned that Sabuj went fishing in Arial Kha river with a net. At that time, when he threw the net into the water, he saw a strange fish. The fish has black freckled with striped white spots. After catching the fish, when Sabuj brought it to the market, people flocked to see the fish. It was later learned that the name of the fish was 'Suckermouth catfish'.
Fisherman Sabuj Mia said, “I caught the strange fish while fishing. Later, when the fish was brought to the market, a curious crowd gathered around to see the fish.”
Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Muhammad Delwar Hossain told the media, “The fish is often caught in fishermen's nets in various canals and rivers. The vitality of the fish is very evident. This fish is as horrible to look at as it also has a horrible nature. The breeding of this fish is a threat to our native fish.”
