Principal of Rangpur Collectorate School and College, Monjura Pravin, resigned on Wednesday in the face of the 12-point demand pressed by the current and former students.
Rangpur Collectorate School and College is administered by Rangpur District Administration. Current and former students of the institution demanded the resignation of Prinicpal Mojura Parvin as she was allegedly connected with corruption and various irregularities. Teachers, along with guardians of the student were also in support of the demands of the students.
Students started their protest with their 12-point demands, including the resignation of the Principal, from 11:00am on Wednesday. They continued with their protest till 3:50pm. At that point, Principal Monjuara Parvin was forced to sign the resignation paper in the face of the students’ protest.
When the correspondent visited the institution, he saw that the current and former students are protesting with their 12-point demand, including the resignation of the Principal Mojura Parvin. Former student of the institution, Nazim, said Principal Monjura Parvin has looted crores of money and conducted various corrupted activities for 12 years. So we demand her resignation.
Twelfth grade students Nirob, Nusrat Jahan, seventh grade student Tushin and others also complained against the principal. They said they would not return home till the corrupt Principal does not resign from her post.
Later, Principal Mojura Parvin was forced to resign in theface of the protest of the students.
