The owners of private clinics and hospitals in Rajshahi city on Thursday withdrew their suspension of all kinds of surgeries about 22 hours after they had announced it following their disputes with anaesthesiologists.

Mukhlesur Rahman Shah, general secretary of Bangladesh Private Hospital, Clinic and Diagnostic Owners Association’s Rajshahi chapter, said that they had withdrawn their suspension of all kinds of surgeries following a meeting with the district civil surgeon and the anaesthesiologists.

He said that surgeries at 33 clinics and hospitals in the Rajshahi city would resume from Thursday evening.

Md Anwarul Kabir, director of Rajshahi Divisional Health Office, said that they had solved the problem between the clinics and hospital owners and the anaesthesiologists so that no patient suffered due to their dispute.

He also said that they had also warned the duo groups so that no such incident as this happened in the future.

Earlier, the private clinics and hospitals owners announced suspension of all kinds of surgeries on Wednesday evening in protest against a demand for an increased fee for anaesthesiologists.
