Rajshahi brings new surprises in the new year. In the new year, Rajshahi has won the Environment Friendly City of the Year Award for being the most environmentally friendly city. Rajshahi city has become known in the world for rapidly reducing the harmful particles floating in the air. As a healthy and clean city, Rajshahi is ahead from all the cities in the country. Rajshahi City Corporation says this achievement is due to long-term planning for urban development and the adoption of Zero Soil Project.
For the first time in the 10th year of the Channel I Prokrity Mela, Today (Saturday) the medal was given to Rajshahi as the cleanest air city in the world. Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton received the award at the Channel I Prokrity Mela. Hasan Mahmud, Minister, Information Ministry, Bangladesh; has given the award and Mukit Majumder Babu, Chairman, Prokrity O Jibon other distinguished guest were present at the event.
