The 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated at Bangladesh Shishu Academy under the supervision of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira was present as the chief guest in the program titled 'Hridoy Amar Nachere Ajike'.
State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira said, “Rabindranath Tagore saw his life very deeply which is reflected in his poems, songs, short stories and essays. His songs, poems, short stories, essays, novels are our source of inspiration. Rabindranath became the guide when there was only darkness around.”
She further said, “Rabindranath was not only a poet or an artist, he was a true patriot. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working following Rabindranath Tagore’s philosophy of human welfare and people’s development.”
A cultural program was staged with the participation of the children of Shishu Academy following a prize distribution programme.
Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Md. Hasanuzzaman Kallol was present as a special guest in the event. Shishu Academy Chairman Lucky Inam presided over the function. Anjeer Liton, Director General of Shishu Academy delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
