Anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion has taken tight security measures to face any untoward situation ahead of and during the inauguration of the metro rail in the capital today (Wednesday).
RAB will deploy its special force, helicopters, dog squad and bomb disposal unit before and during the inauguration.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of Rapid Action Battalion or RAB's law and media wing, made the disclosure while addressing a press briefing at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Tuesday.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will go to Agargaon from Uttara after inaugurating the metro rail. RAB detectives in plain clothes will be deployed in several multi-storey buildings.
Besides, helicopters of the RAB will patrol the area, he added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the commercial operation of the dream metro rail through a programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital today.
