The members of Rapid Action Battalion in a raid on Thursday night arrested six human traffickers and rescued three female victims from Batenpara area under Shiddhirganj police station in the district.
Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Mahmud Pasha, commanding officer of RAB-11 informed the media through a brief on Friday.
The arrested are Jhuma Akter,28,Sharmin Akter,29, Minara,35, Shah Jamal,40, Rabeya,27, and Komoli Khatun,32.
RAB claimed that a victim had submitted a written complaint stating that a gang of people allured her that they would send her abroad with a good job. But the gang a few days ago tried to enter the neighboring country through an outside zone of Benapole land port. She denied intrusion and went back in secret and then complained to the RAB-11.
Based on that complaint RAB conducted a raid at Batenpara area under Shiddhirganj police station and captured the human trafficker gang, RAB said.
A criminal case was recorded with Shiddhirganj police in this connection.
