Members of RAB-15 arrested a businessman along with firearms in a raid in Khurulia of Cox's Bazar Sadar. On Thursday evening, he was arrested and illegal weapons were seized in a raid in Khurulia Saudagarpara area of Jhelongja Union in Sadar. RAB-15 media officer ASP Billal Uddin said that he had come to Cox's Bazar to take Yaba by supplying weapons and was staying in the area.
The arrested Safiz Uddin (36) is the son of deceased Abdul Jabbar of village Bhumradah of Ward No. 8 of Bhumradah Union of Thakurgaon district. 1 three-quarter gun and 1 one-shot gun were recovered from him.
ASP Billal Uddin said that RAB-15 Cox's Bazar got to know through secret information that a criminal arms and drug dealer is staying in Khurulia Saudagarpara area of Jhelong. Immediately, a raiding party of RAB-15 reached the spot before Thursday evening and found a man standing with a plastic bag in his hand.
When the man realized the presence of RAB members and tried to run away, the raiding party chased him and arrested him. His name is Safiz Uddin. He was arrested after searching the plastic bag in his custody and recovering 1 three-quarter gun and 1 one-shot gun.
He also said that the arrested Sofiz said in the initial interrogation that he is a local resident of Thakurgaon, a professional arms and yaba dealer. Often he came to Cox's Bazar and took Yaba consignments with weapons. He was planning to go to Thakurgaon with Yaba in exchange for weapons seized from a terrorist group in Cox's Bazar. Before that RAB arrested him.
A case was filed against him
under Arms Act and he was handed over to Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.
