The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) in a raid on Tuesday night at Bongoshason area under Bandar upazila in Narayanganj arrested a drug peddler with a plenty of hemp and foreign manufactured wine.
RAB also seized narcotics carried vehicles, an ambulance, a motorcycle and a cell phone set from the arrestee’s possession.
The information was asserted to the media by the company commander of RAB-10 Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mohammad Fariduddin.
The arrested was identified as Emdad Hossain, 40, son of Tara Mia, resident of Uttorcharota of Cumilla Sadar police station in Cumilla district.
In the drive RAB recovered 25 kilogram ganja and 21 bottles foreign made wine that approximately cost 9 lakh 60 thousand taka, according to the claim of RAB.
Company commander of RAB-10 also confirmed to the media that the arrested is a professional drug peddler and he used an ambulance to carry narcotics to evade agencies eyes.
A case was filed with Bandar police station under narcotics control act in this connection.
