Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) have arrested four drug dealers along with 53 kg of hemp in a raid in Sirajganj district. A covered van carrying this drug consignment was seized at the time.
The arrested are Monir Hossain (35), Shahjalal (20), Sumon Mia (26) and Chhamiul Haque (38).
Sirajganj RAB-12 Adjutant and Ops Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police Mostafizur Rahman through a press release on Monday said that, on the basis of secret information, a team of RAB-12 Sadar Company raided 'Allah Rahmat Hotel' in Khalkhula area of Tarash upazila of Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at around 5:30 am and arrested 4 drug dealers along with 53 kg of hemp. At that time, 5 mobile phones used for buying and selling drugs, cash and a covered van used for carrying drugs were seized from them.
RAB officials also said that legal action are being taken against the arrested drug dealers. During the preliminary interrogation, the detainees confessed to supplying and buying and selling illegal narcotics in different areas under the guise of law enforcement agencies for a long time.
