Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Pabna-12 camp conducting a raid arrested a drug dealer along with 784 yaba tablets on Monday evening.
The drug dealer was arrested from Gopalpur area of Sara Union in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna. The arrestee was identified as Chander Ali (24), son of the deceased Pramanik of Paippara village in Lalpur upazila of Natore district.
A case has been filed against him with Ishwardi police station in this connection under the Narcotics Control Act.
According to RAB, a group of RAB members led by Aminul Kabir Tarafdar, the acting company commander of RAB-12 Pabna camp, took up position in front of Munshur filling station in Gopalpur area.
RAB members arrested Chhander Ali when he tried to flee after sensing the presence of the RAb members. Later, searching his body RAB members recovered 784 yaba tablets.
RAB sources said Chander Ali has been involved in drug business for a long time. There are several cases against him in different police stations across the country.
