Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 634 robbers from different parts of the country only in one year.
Talking to Bangladesh Post over phone on Monday, Imran Khan, assistant superintendent of police at the media wing of RAB headquarters, confirmed the matter.
He said, on January 1, a team of RAB-4 in association with the Intelligence Wing of the RAB Forces Headquarters, conducted a special drives in Nabinagar area of city’s outkrist Savar.
The RAB members arrested the robber leader Alamgir along with his 13 associates.
The elite force also seized two pick up vans, 13 mobile and a cash of Tk 38,200/- from their possessions.
On March 16 last year, a team of RAB-11 raided at Gozaria Char Baushia area of Dhaka-Chattagram Highway.
RAB personnel arrested 8 robbers and sharp weapons while they were committing robberies.
RAB-7 arrested 10 robbers from Fouzdarhat Kalosha Mazar while RAB-2 nabbed five robbers from city’s Mohammadpur area on August 9.
We shall continue our drives against robbery, said ASP Imran Khan.
