The government is working to increase the quality of service for launch passengers. Passengers should not be harassed in any way. Therefore, the owners including the launch owners have to ensure the quality of passenger service, said Deputy Minister of Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim.
“The inside of the launch should be kept clean and tidy. The quality of food in the canteen should be maintained and sold at affordable prices. And the launch cannot be operated with extra passengers. In this regard, the concerned officials including the launch owner should keep a close watch,” he said.
He made the remarks while exchanging views with all the launch owners operating at Shariatpur ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, at Pani Bhaban in Dhaka on Monday.
