Blanning Minister MA Mannan said that the private sector has to be given space and opportunity to work for the development of the country's tourism sector.
He made the comment while speaking at an event on the tourism master plan at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Wednesday.
He said that the government will provide all kinds of facilities for the development of tourism. The private sector has to be given the opportunity in these cases. The tourism sector needs to be given uninterrupted work space.
“Bangladesh is a country of natural beauty, many would like to come here. I think many people will come to visit our country if we have adequate security and clean places in our tourist spots,” he said.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali was present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion the State Minister for Aviation, the Planning Minister said that their recommendations for the country’s tourist spots should be implemented to take the country's tourism industry forward.
Addressing the state minister, he said that it is often heard that air fares are higher than other airlines. He urged the state minister to look into the matter.
Md Mahbub Ali said, “Bangladesh is a country with vast potentials for tourism. Every year during winter, foreign birds come to our country. They come to the country for our captivating nature. Our nature is arranged in such a way that everything we need is here.”
Highlighting the development of the tourism system of the country, he said that work is going on with a master plan for the development of tourism.
“We are expanding the runway of Cox's Bazar. Work is also underway to develop all other airports. Our airports will be like that of Switzerland’s. A passenger from London's Heathrow will come to Bangladesh and see that the country's airport is more beautiful than Heathrow.”
