Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule has made headlines by becoming the fastest Indian film to surpass USD $1 million in pre-sales at the US box office. The film's creators made the announcement on Tuesday, proudly sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), where they stated, “Pushpa Raj's dominance is redefining the box office with a new dimension.”
The announcement was accompanied by a poster featuring Allu Arjun's character, Pushpa, seated atop a pile of cash, symbolizing his growing influence and success. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which earned massive success in India. In the sequel, Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, while Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil return as Srivalli and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, respectively.
The recently released trailer, which debuted on November 17, hints at a high-stakes confrontation between Pushpa and SP Shekhawat, alongside moments showcasing the strong chemistry between Pushpa and Srivalli. One of the trailer’s major highlights is actress Sreeleela’s much-anticipated dance number, Kissik. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while Miroslaw Kuba Brozek handles the cinematography.
Pushpa: The Rise, which was released on December 17, 2021, introduced Allu Arjun’s character as a lorry driver who rises through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. Rashmika Mandanna played his love interest, Srivalli. The first film grossed approximately Rs 350 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of that year. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of Pushpa 2, set to hit theaters on December 5.
