Hundreds of people had brought out a mourning procession in the town on Friday.
They also formed human chain at Nagarbathan Bazer in Jhenidah Sadar upazila demanding punishment of the grenade attackers of 21August.
Local Juba League leader Srajul Karim organized the programme. Union parishad member Tokan Hossain, Anwar Hossain, Jhenidah district unit Chhatra League vice president Mamunur Rashid Badsha, Juba League leader Rezaul Karim, Mehedi Hasan and Kutub Uddin among others spoke to the human chain.
The speakers urged the government to ensure punishments for the attackers as well as plotters of the grenade attack.
If the miscreants are not punished as per the existing law of the country, they might trigger these sort of heinous activities again and again.
They also prayed for the wellbeing of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who escaped injury and grenade attack by the grace of Allah.
