Progress review workshop on dev projects held in Cox’s Bazar

A quality assessment and progress review workshop of the RCC works of 29 important sub-roads at the estimated cost of Tk 87 crore was held at Cox’s Bazar town on Thursday. Task team leader of the World Bank Dr Kobena attended the workshop held at the conference room of Cox’s bazar LGED as the chief guest. Project Director of Municipal Governance and Services Project (MGSP) Sheikh Muzakka Zaher presided over the workshop while Deputy Project Director Monjur Ali hosted it. 

Among others Cox’s Bazar Municipal Mayor Mujibur Rahman, Chakaria Municipal Mayor Alamgir Chowdhury and Teknaf Municipal Mayor Haji Mohammad Islam spoke at the workshop. Task Team Leader Dr. Kobena addressing as the chief guest directed the concerned officials of Cox's Bazar, Chakria and Teknaf municipalities participating in the workshop to complete the project within the stipulated time, which is the next 7 months.  

Besides, the Project Director Sheikh Muzakka Zaher warned that the accused contractors would be blacklisted if any irregularities were found in the project.  He also said that the whole image of the tourist city Cox's Bazar will be changed if the works are implemented properly. He sought the cooperation of the district administration, police administration and the municipality for implementing the project. 

The contractors and their representatives of the ongoing development project attended the workshop.
