Dhaka University's 104th anniversary on July 1 will be celebrated under the theme 'Higher Education for Skill Development of Young Generation'. Throughout the day, university authorities will host various programmes.

Key buildings and roads, such as the Vice-Chancellor Building, Curzon Hall, Art Building, and Student-Teacher Centre, will be adorned with lights. Archways, road dividers, and islands will also decorate university entrances.

The day will commence with a procession gathering at Smriti Chirantan Chatwar at 9:30 am, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal towards Payra Chatwar. At 10 am, official festivities will kick off at Payra Chatwar with the hoisting of national and university flags, performances, cake cutting, and more.

A thematic discussion on 'Higher Education for Skill Development of Young Generation' will take place at 10:30 am in the student-teacher

centre auditorium, with National Parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury as the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor Kamal will chair the meeting, which will be attended by university officials and faculty members.

Road closures will affect Nilkhet and Fuller Road from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, with alternative routes advised. Classes will be suspended from 8 am to 1 pm, although exams will proceed as scheduled.

The day marks the establishment of Dhaka University's educational programmes on July 1, 1921.
