Prog on Ivy Rahman held in Kishoreganj

A discussion meeting and prayers was held in Kishoreganj in memory of Ivy Rahman, who was killed in August 21 grenade attack. The programme was was held at Nurul Ulum Balika Alia Madrasa and Orphanage on Monday, organized by Kishoreganj District Mohila Awami League.

Kishoreganj District Mohila Awami League General Secretary Bilkis Begum presided over the meeting and District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shahjahan spoke as the chief guest. Speakers at the meeting demanded that the perpetrators of the August 21 grenade attack be brought to justice.

Kishoreganj District Awami League Forest and Environment secretary Enayet Karim Omi, Zila Parishad Member Fauzia Jalil Nancy, Sadar Upazila Mohila Vice Chairman Mst. Mashuma Akhter, Women Leader Sajida Yasmin, Ruby Islam, Lutfunnesa Chinu, Mahfuza Palak, Afroza Akhter and other associates of Awami League Leaders and workers of the organization and front organizations were present.

Incidentally, on August 21, 2004, Ivy Rahman was injured in a grenade attack at an anti-terrorism rally organized by the Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. She fought with the death for 4 days and died on 24th August. Ivy Rahman was one of the top women leaders of the Awami League, she was the wife of the late President Zillur Rahman.
