Prof Dr Satya Prasad Majumder has been reappointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for a second consecutive term, as announced in a circular by Mst Rokhsana Begum, Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department, on Wednesday.
According to the notification, Prof Satya Prasad Majumder, currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BUET, will serve another four-year term as per the provisions of the Bangladesh Engineering University Ordinance.
The appointment can be terminated at any time by His Excellency the President and Chancellor.
Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, who completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from BUET and holds a PhD from IIT Kharagpur, has extensive administrative experience within BUET, including previous service as Acting Vice-Chancellor. His reappointment comes after his initial term concluded on June 26, succeeding Prof Dr Abdul Jabbar Khan in the acting capacity.
