Professor Dr Md Anwarul Azim Akhand joined as the Vice-Chancellor of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) on Saturday.
The government appointed Professor Dr Md Anwarul Azim Akhand as MBSTU VC for a four-year term following the approval of the President and Chancellor.
Students welcomed MBSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Anwarul Azim Akhand with bouquet at the main gate of the university.
After joining the office, he, along with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Deans, Registrar, Chairaman, teachers, students, and staff, placed wreath at the Mazar of Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani on the campus. They joined a Dua and Munajat after that.
The VC then visited the university campus with the students. Later, he exchanged views with the deans and teachers of each faculty separately.
Professor Dr Md Anwarul Azim Akhand was a professor of Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in University of Dhaka. He was born in 1966 in a distinguished Muslim family in Muktagachha of Mymensingh. His father's name is Abdul Khalek Akhand.
