Prof Lutfur Rahman appointed as new VC of CVASU

Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, Professor of Department of Anatomy and Histology of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), was appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the university on Thursday.

He was appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of CVASU through a notification issued by the Ministry of Education under Section 10(1) of the Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act, 2006, with the approval of the President and the Chancello. He will serve as the Vice-Chancellor of the university for four years. Earlier, he served as the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Professor Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rahman was born in Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh district. He obtained his PhD in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1999 from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He also received his Master's degree in anatomy from the same university.

He received his PhD from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. He completed post-doctoral research on various subjects at different universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan.

Professor Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rahman joined Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as a lecturer in 2001. He has been engaged in research and teaching for 24 years. He served four times as the head of the department of Anatomy and Histology of the university.

He was also a syndicate member and academic council member of the university. He worked as a research fellow and research scholar in various universities in the USA, UK, Australia, Japan, and Sri Lanka.
