Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Professor Dr ASM Lutful Ahsan, a teacher in the Department of Anatomy and Histology, has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor. He joined the CVASU Vice-Chancellorship on Sunday after being appointed by the Ministry of Education.
Professor Dr ASM Lutful Ahsan was born in Mirsarai Upazila of Chattogram District. He obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2003 as a 1st batch student of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
He received Master's degree from Belgium in Molecular Biology and PhD in Animal Nutrition and Food Safety from the University of Milan, Italy in 2015. Besides, he completed PGT from Netherlands.
Professor Dr ASM Lutful Ahsan joined Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) as a lecturer in 2003. He has been engaged in research and teaching for over 20 years. He served as the Head of the Department of Anatomy and Histology of the University. Before being appointed as Vice-Chancellor, he was serving as the Director of Research and Extension Department of the University. In addition to teaching, he served as a member of the Syndicate and Academic Council of the University.
He is a life member of Ahsan Bangabandhu Krishibid Parishad and Krishibid Institution. He is a member of the 2022-23 Executive Committee of the University's Pro-Awami Progressive Teachers' Forum.
The teachers, officers, students and employees of the university congratulated him for being appointed as the vice-chancellor of CVASU.
