Kamrul Ahsan, Professor of philosophy department, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jahangirnagar University (JU).
A notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education Shaheenur Islam informed it.
President Mohammad Shahabuddin, also the chancellor of the university, appointed him to the post under five conditions on Thursday.
The conditions are: The appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor will be effective from the date of joining; In the above post he will be entitled to pay and allowances equivalent to his present post; He will enjoy other benefits pertaining to the post as per rules; He will be permanently stationed on the university campus as the Chief Executive Officer of the University and the President can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary
