Prof Hossain elected President of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons

Renowned Neurosurgeon Professor Dr Mohammad Hossain has been elected as the President of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons and Dr Safiqul Islam, Associate Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Dhaka Medical College has been elected as the General Secretary.

This information was given in a press release signed by the newly elected Press and Publication Secretary of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons Dr Farid Raihan on Friday. 

The executive council election of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons was held on June 30 at the Rashiduddin Seminar Hall of the Department of Neurosurgery, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. 183 neurosurgeons from all over the country voted in the election from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Professor Dr Mohammad Hossain, Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery and Dean of the Faculty of Surgery, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, has been elected as the President by a large number of votes vote. The newly elected president said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will continue her relentless efforts to upgrade neurosurgery to world class medical services in the journey of a developed country in 2041.”

He said the number of neurosurgical patients in the country - brain tumors, strokes, bleeding in the head, spinal tumors, dex prolapse - is increasing day by day.
