The government has formed a three-member investigation team to find edible oil manipulation to control the price hike.
Bangladesh Competition Commission (BCC) will take disciplinary action against anyone who deliberately raises the price of soybean oil.
Md Mofizul Islam, Chairperson of BCC informed this to the reporters on Monday.
He said that the BCC has formed a three-member committee to find out who is involved in the edible oil scam. The inquiry committee will submit a report to the commission within the next 15 working days, he added.

In response to a question, he said that information from importers to retailers would be taken. The inquiry committee will gather information on who is behind the increase in edible oil prices.
“Following the report of the inquiry committee, further steps will be taken as per the laws,” he mentioned.
The three-member search team has been formed to perform the investigations in accordance with the relevant section of the Competition Commission 2012.
If any anti-competition activities are observed in the market, all are urged to provide information in this regard to the e-mail (secretary.ccb2012@gmail.com) of the Secretary of Bangladesh Competition Commission.
The identity of the informant will be kept confidential. Concerned parties will take legal action against anyone who deliberately raises the price of soybean oil.
