The Islamic University (IU) authorities on Sunday formed a four-member committee to investigate the alleged leaked audio conversation between IU acting registrar HM Ali Hasan and a contractor that went viral on social media.
A press release was issued in this regard on Sunday afternoon.
IU vice-chancellor Prof Shaikh Abdus Salam formed the committee led with university’s Business Administration faculty dean Professor M Shaiful Islam as its head, the press release said.
Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall provost Professor Miah M Rashiduzzaman, IUTA general secretary Professor Tapan Kumar Godder and deputy registrar (education) Alib Uddin are the members of the probe body.
The probe body was asked to submit its report as early as possible, the release added.
Earlier, an audio conversation between IU acting registrar, also former planning director, HM Ali Hasan and Moyeen, a contractor, went viral on the social media Facebook on Tuesday night.
In the audio conversation, shared from a Facebook account named Sathi Khatun, the registrar asked a person to give him money.
The Islamic University Officers’ Association in a statement on Wednesday demanded his punishment after proper investigation.
They also submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor in this connection.
