Distribution of prizes among the best in the ‘Artificial Intelligence for Bangla’ competition initiated by the Department of Information Communication Technology held on Tuesday.
ICT department Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam as the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners at the event held at Bangladesh Computer Council Auditorium in the capital.
Bangladesh Computer Council Director SM Parvez presided over the function while among others IT specialist Muhammad Zafar Iqbal spoke at the event. North South University Professor Dr. Nabil Mahmud, Project Director of Enrich Bangla Language Project Mahabub Karim was also present.

Senior secretary of the ICT department said, “The country needs to move forward through future technology by relying on artificial intelligence technology. The ICT department was working with artificial intelligence to make government services more automated with the people. Nowadays we are used to using various IoT devices including smart boys drive cars.”
“Language technology is opening up new doors of possibilities for us,” he said.
Later, he distributed prizes among the winners of the competition. A total of ten teams were awarded. The first prize of one lakh rupees was won by the research team adventurer.
