Teachers legally recruited in Honours-Masters courses in private colleges affiliated to the National University held a press conference demanding MPO registration by including them in manpower structure in Brahmanbaria on Monday.
The Brahmanbaria branch of Bangladesh Non-Government Honours-Masters Teachers' Forum organized the press conference at the Brahmanbaria Press Club auditorium maintaining physical distance. Lecturer Momin Khan, Publicity Secretary of the organisation read out the written statement.
In a written statement, he said the global Covid-19 epidemic is a disaster for public life. School-college are closed. In this situation, except for a few colleges, the salary allowance of Honours-Masters teachers has also been stopped.
On the other hand, the source of supportive income, private tuition is also closed. As a result, teachers are living inhumane lives with their families. However, the National University authorities are playing a silent, cruel and iconic role.
They demanded that MPO teachers should be included in the manpower structure and MPO policy-2018 and it is also necessary to allocate Tk 1000 crore as special incentive loan for teachers and in the approved budget, teachers should be brought under MPO.
Non-Government Honours-Masters Teachers Forum Brahmanbaria unit President Md. Bakul Mia Hazari, Vice-President Abdul Baten, Rozina Akter, General Secretary Russell Mahmud, Joint General Secretary Safayet Hossain, Organizing Secretary Sajal Das were present.
