A prisoner died while undergoing treatment at Natore Sadar Hospital on Friday.
The deceased was, identified as Abdul Khaleq, 40, son of Saymuddin of Nawpara village Gurudaspur upazila of the district.
Abdul Khaleq had been serving his 2 years of imprisonment in a drug case.
Abdul Khaleq entered prison via court on June 30. He was sick since his arrival. He received treatment at prison hospital. Later, he was admitted to Sadar hospital and died there, Jail superintendent Abdul Barek told Banglanews.
Dead body will be handed over to the family after performing autopsy on it, he also said.
