President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday urged the judges to increase the use of information technology (IT) to expedite the judicial process.
He said this while three newly appointed judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban in the capital Sunday evening. The judges are: Justice Borhan Uddin, Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Krishna Debnath.
After the meeting, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS that the President congratulated the new judges, hoping that these appointments would help gear the activities of the Appellate Division of the country's apex court in days to come.
The judges would work diligently and sincerely to ensure the image of the judiciary and justice for the people, Abdul Hamid expected.
The head of the state said the judiciary should continue its efforts to ensure judicial services for the people as it had done at the times of calamities like COVID-19 pandemic.
Secretary to the President Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (attached) Md Wahidul Islam Khan were present.
