Preparatory meeting on Durga Puja held in Natore

A preparatory meeting for peaceful celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja 2024, the greatest religious festival of the Hindu community, was held at Gurudaspur in Natore on Thursday. 

The meeting was organised by the Upazila administration. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Akter presided over the meeting. 

Assistant Commissioner (Land) Asadul Islam, Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Golam Sarwar, DGM of Palli Bidyut, Social Services Officer Shafikul Islam, Project Implementation Officer Md Abdul Hannan, Livestock Services Officer Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, Gurudaspur Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Ratan Chandra Saha and Upazila Agriculture Officer Harunur Rashid were present as special guests at the meeting.

President of Gurudaspur Puja Utjapan Committee Dhirendranath, its General Secretary Ashim Pal and presidents and general secretaries of all 28 Puja Mandaps of Gurudaspur were present at the meeting. 

Besides, all Union Parishad Chairmen of the Upazila took part at the meeting. Moreover, the speakers discussed about the law and order situation and ensuring safety at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, 500 Kg rice to each Puja Mandap was distributed.
