Prantic Unnayan Society (PRANTIC) held its 27th health care activities under Department of Social Services of Ukhiya Upazila Parishad on Tuesday at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar.
A total of 110 destitute, disabled and local patients were provided health care at the programme.
The health care activities were financed by the charity organization OBAT Canada and arranged under their ongoing Health, Education and Employment project, in order to provide health care to those who can’t access it for lack of money.
The services provided by Prantic Unnayan Society health campaign are health screening, disease diagnosis, health care education and counseling and providing free medicines with prescription under registered doctors. A total of 110 marginalized people received the health care. Among them, there were 3 boys and 3 girls under 5 years of age and 60 males and 44 females above 5 years of age. PRANTIC has so far arranged 27 mobile health care activities in various marginalized villages of Ukhiya. A total of 3,687 beneficiaries have received health care from this. Among them, 2,076 are males and 1,611 are females.
Ukhiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanvir Hossain visited the health care activities programme along with Upazila Social Service Officer Al Mahmud and others.
Clinic manager of PRANTIC Abdullah Al Abir said that they are proud and happy to deliver the health care service to marginalized people with their hard work and skilled team. They also expressed gratitude to OBAT Canada for their generous financial support.
He also said PRANTIC is providing health care in Rohingya camps and Rohingya host communities through health campaigns. Twenty officers and workers of Japan and Pulse Bangladesh observed the day-long programme. They all appreciated the activities and efforts of PRANTIC.
