The Prachyanat School of Acting and Design has been working for 19 years to expand the theatre in Bangladesh and create skilled theatre workers.
The certificate distribution ceremony of the 38th batch of Prachyanat School of Acting and Design will be held at the examination theatre hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday, December 11 at 7 pm. The 38th batch will stage their final production, Sophocles' play "Antagoni".
The play is adapted and directed by Neel Kamrul. Kamal Uddin Kabir, Drama Director and Assistant Professor, Department of Drama, Jagannath University and playwright Aminur Rahman Mukul will be present as guests on the occasion.
Will be seen in the play, Antegoni, daughter of Oedipus. Antegoni, the name of an "apolitical" force that stands up against the unjust orders of the monarchy.
Arbitrary King Crayon imposed a ban on his funeral after Polynesis' death, due to the political decisions of Antigone's brother Polynesis. Let the corpse of Polynesis be the food of foxes and vultures, this is the punishment imposed by the king. This disrespect towards his brother's body seems to be a great injustice to him.
Disobeying the king's order, he honourably buried the corpse of Polynesia. When the news reached the king's ears, King Crayon sentenced Antegone to death. If he had apologized, he might have saved his life; But he was steadfast in his ideals.
The king imprisoned him in a secluded cave far from the city. At the request of the members of the royal family and the advice of the well-wishers, the king finally changed his mind. But was it too late by then? Thus, the story of the play goes on.
