Activities of all political organisations of political parties are permanently banned at Rangpur Medical College campus.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of academic council led by the principal of the medical college at the campus on Monday. Later, the matter was confirmed by a notification signed by Rangpur Medical College Principal Professor Dr Shah Md Sarwer Jahan.
The statement said all political activities of all political parties are permanently banned for students, teachers and staff members in all dormitories. According to the notification, legal action will be taken against those who violate this order.
Besides, some other decisions were taken at the meeting. The decisions are- paying deepest condolences to all the bereaved family members of the martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement and praying for the salvation of the departed soul of the martyrs. Moreover, all political activities of all parties are banned for the students, teachers and staff members in the campus and dormitories. Ensuring proper treatment of all the students injured in the movement and conveying deep condolences to them were among the decisions at the meeting.
The decision to take all necessary measures was taken to maintain an appropriate environment along with the safety of the students in the dormitories. These decisions will be effective from Monday (August 12), the notification said.
