‘Police work for people’

Police forces of Bangladesh are working for the people remaining beside them. Bangladesh police already has taken many initiatives rounding the people of the country. IGP Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary, said this while addressing as chief guest at the annual prize giving ceremony-2020 of Cox's Bazar District police on Thursday.

IGP stated that, Bangladesh is moving forward. With the directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, recently Bangladesh has graduated to a middle income country. By 2041, Bangladesh will be a developed country. To keep pace with the development, Bangladesh police will be the highest ethical police of the world.

IGP said that the special initiatives for the police have been brought recently. Hot line 999 was launched. Through this service, the police have been able to get closer to the people. Police can stop many crimes as the news came to the police before many big incidents took place. 

The member of police are working with the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Marking the Mujib Year, police are trying to become the actual friend of people to work for them, he added.

It was attended by among others, Shaimum Sarwar Kamal, MP of Cox’s Bazar Sadar and Ramu Constituency, Additional IGP Md Zakir Hossen, Chittagong Range DIG Khandaker Golam Faruk, Cox's Bazar Police Superintendent ABM Masud Hossen, Superintendent of Tourist Police Md Zillur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Iqbal Hossain and many others.

More than 300 participants of the district police, their children and family members including guests attended the various event of annual sports competition. Later, IGP distributed prizes among the winners. Cultural events are also arranged at night.
