Police have recovered a hanging body of a boy from the 4th floor of a private hospital of West Khabaspur of Faridpur town on Monday.
The deceased was identified as SM Sajjad, 25, son of SM Main Uddin, hailed from Lakhonda Village under Moksedpur Upazila of Gopalganj District.
According to deceased's roommate Bijon, on Monday night I found Sajjad was sleeing on the bed. Later, I slept at my bed and in the morning, I found Sajjad hanging himself with the fan.
On the other hand, a body of a Hindu monk, who had apparently taken his own life, was recovered from his living room in the town on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Bandhu Sebak Brahmachari. He was holding the post of assistant Sebayet of Sreedham Sreeangan.
President of the organization, Kanti Bandhu Brahmachari, said: “Bandhu was mentally depressed after two women raised allegations of sexual harassment against him.”
Sub-Inspector of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Billal Hossain said, primarily police suspect that he had taken his own life.
In a Facebook post, Bandhu trashed allegations of sexual harassment and blamed the development on Biggan Bandhu Brahmachari. “I’m a victim of conspiracy,” his status posted in Bangla reads. “Two women were used against me.”
Additional Superintendent of Faridpur police Jamal Pasha said the body was sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police are investigating the incident, ASP added.
