Police in Bogura have arrested a 'notorious' terrorist accused in multiple cases including foreign pistols and bullets. He was arrested from South Atapara area of the city around on Monday. The arrested Mithun Khan or Liton(35) is the son of late Nehal Khan of Latifpur Colony area of the city. Liton has been charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking and multiple extortion cases, police said.
Bogura Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said this at a press conference on Tuesday. Additional Superintendent of Police Ali Haider Chowdhury, OC DB Saihan Oliullah were present that time. At the briefing, SI Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said that the arrested accused was interrogated and learned that he had been carrying out various terrorist activities including snatching, robbery and kidnapping in different areas of Bogura city for a long time. Police conducted a raid in Atapara Dakshinpara area of the city on the basis of tip off on Monday.
Liton, a notorious terrorist in multiple cases, was arrested during the raid. Police recovered a foreign pistol, a round of ammunition and a magazine from his possession.
The arrested Liton has been charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, drug possession and multiple extortion cases.
A case has been filed with the Bogura Sadar Police Station under the Arms Act, the Superintendent of Police said.
